The team hypothesized that using a heart and an X would make the buttons more appealing and encourage more interactions. However, the design featuring thumbs up and thumbs down icons resulted in better user engagement.

Results

  • Increase in clicks of the like button by 6% and clicks of the dislike button by 4.3%

  • Increase in repeat app usage by 2.3%
